Steve Okin was tapped to lead the home entertainment division of the independent faith-based film studio Pure Flix after the release of "God’s Not Dead," which was produced for $1 million and generated over $60 million at the box office. The success of "God’s Not Dead" underscored the potential and profitability of faith-based films, solidifying Pure Flix's reputation as the key independent studio in the industry.
While at Pure Flix, Steve built a team to manage all marketing and sales activities supporting a catalog of 1,000 film titles across all physical and digital video channels. He secured and managed a distribution output deal with Universal Studios for general market retail and serviced a network of 10,000 Christian bookstores catering to the faith-based market.
During his tenure with Pure Flix, the company’s domestic home entertainment business generated up to 60% of the company’s operating revenue.
