Feature Film: To Write Love on Her Arms
Executive Producer
The organization To Write Love On Her Arms (TWLOHA) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to finding help for young people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury, and suicide. TWLOHA exists to encourage, inform, inspire, and invest directly into treatment and recovery.
The movie To Write Love On Her Arms is the organization’s origin story, developed as an outreach vehicle within a dramatic feature film starring major Hollywood talent and targeting a teenage audience. Along with the cast, the producers’ team included Justin Bieber’s mom, Pattie Mallette, whose life experience mirrored much of what was presented in the film. After seeing a rough cut, Pattie came on board in her first experience as a film producer.
As a producer with Birchwood Pictures, Steve collaborated with the creative team on production, post-production and positioning. He interfaced with the TWLOHA organization on outreach strategy and developed the studio pitch package to secure distribution. Ultimately, with Birchwood Pictures, Steve negotiated and secured global distribution for the film with Sony Pictures Entertainment.
